Ammi ne dastarkhwaan lagaaya. Khajoor, phal aur pakoray rakhe.
Mom set the dining cloth. She placed dates, fruit, and pakoras.
Azaan ki awaaz aayi. Sab ne ek saath khajoor khaayi aur paani piya.
The call to prayer came. Everyone ate dates and drank water together.
💡 Iftar tradition: break fast with dates (khajoor) and water - the way the Prophet did. Note "khaayi" (f) matches khajoor (f), but "piya" (m) matches paani (m). Same speaker, two different verb endings, because verbs track the object after "ne".
Abu ne kaha, "Alhamdulillah, yeh iftaar bahut pursukoon hai."
Dad said, "Alhamdulillah, this iftaar is very peaceful."
