Postpositions

mein, par, se, ko, tak - the prepositions that come AFTER.

They come AFTER the noun

In English we say "in the room" - the preposition leads. In Urdu we say "kamre mein" (room-in). The postposition trails.

گھر میں
ghar meinin the home
میز پر
mez paron the table
دوست سے
dost sefrom / with a friend
گھر کو
ghar koto the home / accusative
صبح تک
subah takuntil morning

Oblique case

When a postposition follows a masculine noun ending in -aa, the noun shifts: larka → larke se, kamra → kamre mein. Feminine and consonant-ending nouns usually do not change.
